For those of you who may not know, our existing playground was a gift to us from Geneva D304. It has served us very well and given students countless hours of fun. Unfortunately, it has begun to show signs of old age and must be replaced. This Thursday, July 10th will be it's final hurrah as the last day of ESY will be its final day with students. Construction will begin on the new playground on Monday, July 14th. This structure was developed using feedback from students that included a project from the 2023-2024 school year where students wrote persuasive essays on why we needed a new playground and what it should contain. Students were also involved in the planning process by voting on the main play structure and additional play pieces added to the space. We are grateful for our CSBO Matt McDonald for his work on a grant that paid for a large portion of our playground.
