School is in session tomorrow. Batavia, Geneva, St Charles, and Burlington Central students will have transportation. Due to Kaneland and Sycamore schools being closed, parents will need to transport to school if they choose.
Each day, students participate in a physical education class led by Mr. Klein, who is a physical education teacher with a degree in special education. Activities are chosen based on student ability and interests. Alternative activities are also offered for students who need additional sensory supports. He works closely with each student’s educational team to provide the appropriate support for each student in the larger environment. The class size is based on enrollment in each grade.
Each elementary class could has its own gym time and PE daily. Middle school PE is split into two separate PE sections. One section for students who want to be competitive. One section for students that want to get some exercise and just have fun. High school PE has three sections where students are separated into small groups of 8-10 students with the support of a Teaching Assistant to reinforce positive sportsmanship and teamwork.
